About the Tanzania eVisa

General Information

The Tanzania eVisa is ideal if you’re planning a trip to the country for leisure purposes or to visit family and friends. It is a single-entry visa, however, US citizens are granted a multiple-entry visa for Tanzania.

The multiple-entry visa is valid for one year and for stays of up to 90 days per entry into the country.

The single-entry visa will allow you to stay in Tanzania for up to 30 days and remains valid for 90 days in total.

You can extend your eVisa for Tanzania for three months at a time, the maximum extension is six months.

Eligibility

You can apply for this visa if:

  • Your passport is from an eligible country
  • You enter and exit Tanzania through one of the approved checkpoints
  • Your stay in the country doesn’t exceed 30 days
Requirements

In order to apply for eVisa for Tanzania, you will be required to provide a number of documents. These may include:

  • Completed questionnaire
  • Passport (with blank pages) valid for at least six months from the date of arrival in Tanzania
  • Recent digital photograph
  • A work contract or any proof of the work/assignment to be performed in Tanzania within a period not exceeding three months. (applicable for Business eVisa only)
  • Certificate of Incorporation/Compliance of the inviting (applicable for Business eVisa only) company in Tanzania
  • And other documents
