About The Atypical Working Scheme

General Information

The Atypical Working Scheme allows non-EU nationals to work in Ireland on a short-term basis.

Once you receive a letter of approval, the scheme will be valid for 90 days.

You should apply for this visa up to three months before your date of departure to Ireland to ensure it is approved on time.

The time you spend working in Ireland under the scheme during the validity period depends on the contract and the job you have been given.

Eligibility

The employer and applicant’s eligibility depends on the job offer and the applicant’s skills, qualifications and experience.

Requirements

The general requirements for this type of permission include:

The Irish employer must be registered in Ireland
The position can’t be on the Ineligible Categories of Employment list
The period of the project must be for 90 days or less
The base annual salary (not including bonuses and allowances) must be at least the national minimum or equivalent
If you are from a visa required entry, you will also need an Entry visa before entering Ireland
